Shiny, Clean and Healthy

We all know the importance of flossing and brushing regularly. Preventing tooth decay is critical at any age, and a shiny smile is a healthy smile. People with traditional braces can find tools to help them achieve ease of flossing, like an inexpensive “Floss Threader” available at many pharmacies. Also replace your toothbrush at least every three months and perhaps a bit more frequently if your braces have impacted the bristles or you suffered from a cold or flu. Keeping appliances clean, like your retainers will also prevent bacteria accumulation, and tablets like Efferdent are also easily found in the pharmacy. See our website section on Oral Hygiene for great tips, or speak to Dr. John P. when you are at the clinic. Keep in mind to follow manufacturing cleaning recommendations on specialized items like Invisalign. Oral health is good not only for your smile but for your overall health, so do take the time and perhaps even make it a fun routine putting on a favorite song while you work!
